I started in K–5 classrooms as a multilingual specialist and academic
interventionist at Tacoma Public Schools, designing tiered interventions
across all core content areas and leading district-level professional
development on multilingual learner pedagogy. In 2020, I moved into higher
ed at Highline College, where I designed and taught asynchronous Canvas
courses for the BAS in Elementary Education program — including one
redesigned around UDL after learner intake data showed that the majority
of the cohort had unmet learning needs. In 2025, I served as the
instructional designer and instructor for the University of Puget Sound
MAT program, designing and teaching the institution's first fully
asynchronous course on multilingual learners and students with
disabilities. Alongside this work, I'm building Legacy Lang — a heritage
language learning company helping diaspora communities reconnect with
the languages they grew up hearing at home.
